The garden leads to a wetlands wildflower meadow, the habitat
of rabbits, foxes, frogs and toads, and is sprinkled with
buttercups, ladies smock, primroses and foxgloves throughout
spring and summer.
The fishing lake is a tranquil place where giant carp cruise
like large logs in the midday sun. Swallows swoop back and
forth. Brilliant butterflies, damsel flies and dragon files
skitter at the water's edge.
Yellow flag, majestic purple thistles, bulrushes and delicately
pink ragged robin are dotted along the water-line and wet
meadow.
You may disturb a heron or glimpse a brilliant, darting kingfisher.
Buzzards wheel and mew high above on a sunny day.
Anglers are welcome to try their skills here.
