Local Villages

Leworthy is situated at the heart of 'Ruby Country' an area bordered by Bodmin, Exmoor, Dartmoor and the North Devon & Cornwall coastline. There are many interesting places to visit in this truly unspoilt part of Devon.

Holsworthy is the nearest town; approximately three miles away. This historic market town has a weekly pannier market on a Wednesday in the main market square and one of the largest weekly livestock markets in the South West. Holsworthy lies on the River Deer, a tributary of the Tamar River and is home to two impressive Victorian viaducts.

Bude is a small seaside town with plenty of character. It is nine miles from Leworthy; just over the Cornish border and sits at the mouth of the River Neet. There are numerous beaches to be discovered in and around Bude and this is a particularly popular place for surfers.

Launceston, Cornwall’s ancient capital is just twelve miles away. Launceston is a quaint historic town with a surprising array of shops situated amongst narrow medieval streets that are dominated by an imposing Norman castle.
